Being an outsider is never an issue so long as you focus on your core to spread its fragrance

We are all #seekers, whether we realize or not
We seek #loveđ and #belonging
Unfortunately some of us even endure huge #suppression & #abuse just to ensure that we belong to the community/team/group that we love to associate with
Alas! The belonging doesnât happen very often. The seeker gets frustrated and becomes #dysfunctional
Brené Brown writes in The #Gifts of #Imperfection
âIâm convinced that #belonging is in our #DNA, most likely connected to our most #primitive #survival #instinct.
Given how difficult it is to cultivate #self #acceptance in our #perfectionist #society and how our need for belonging is #hardwired, itâs no wonder that we spend our lives trying to fit in and gain #approval. Itâs so much easier to say -Iâll be whoever or whatever you need me to be, as long as I feel like Iâm part of this
From #gangs to #gossiping, weâll do what it takes to fit in if we believe it will meet our need for belonging
But it doesnât
We can only belong when we offer our most #authentic selves and when weâre embraced for who we are â
Hence seeking #self and #super-self is so very essential and you can easily belong here.
Giving #undue #importance to mere #mortals and #ephemeral is being utterly foolish & #defeating
A sensible person will never suppress someone seeking #love and attention and yet will hanker in futile from a #nongiver
